The time is quickly approaching when Maksim is going to get a new sister. In less than a week, Misha will be making her appearance in our household and I have been trying to get Maksim ready. When we introduced him to Holly she was not impressed one bit. He loved to play with her tail and was the annoying “little brother”. She tolerated him, sometimes they did curl up together, but for the most part she was not really thrilled with this new addition. So trying to prepare Maksim has been my goal.
I got him a new water fountain that is motion activated. The little fountain starts flowing when he walks by. Guess what? He is scared of it.

With a new kitten comes new high calorie food that a six year old cat does not need to be eating so I purchased a fancy feeder that comes with an RIFD tag that triggers the feeder to open when the cat with that tag approaches. I thought I would ease him into it and then get one for Misha when she arrived. But guess what? No big surprise. He was scared of it.

3 days and he would not touch the dry food. He walked way around it and if the lid opened he would not go close enough to eat. 3 long days and I decided to give up and went back to his other feeder and will try this one with the kitten. Maybe she won’t be such a scaredy cat.

Have I shared her picture on my blog before? Here she is — a cute little Siberian girl. Wish us luck!
