Book Lovers Unite for April’s Comments for a Cause

33 Comments/ 577/ 3

April 1st and no fooling—it’s time to reveal the results for our March Comments for a Cause and share the new cause for April.  It’s no secret that I love the first of each month because it means Comments for a Cause.  Actually this month I am celebrating 6 years of doing Comments for a Cause.  For those of you who are new to It’s Just Life on the first of each month I highlight a cause.  For each comment made during that month on any post Chris and I donate 50 cents to that organization.  It is a great way to highlight some of our favorite charities, find new ones and share those with my readers.  So please come back often and leave a comment on any and all posts.

In March I shared that my friend Teresa Gray and her husband Dennis are going on wonderful mission trip to Honduras.  You can read more about that by clicking here.

These two are making a difference. That is what it is all about.  Their excitement for doing God’s work is contagious.  I am thrilled that due to all of the comments on the blog this month (and because I bumped it up a bit ) we will be making a donation of $325 to help them with their trip to Honduras this summer.  I am so excited to see what God is going to do through them.

You know by now I am passionate about books and reading and on April 4th my very own Little Free Library will be up and running just a couple of miles  down the road from my house.  You can read my first post about that news by clicking here.

I am so excited to be able to celebrate my love of books with others and this month Chris and I will be donating to The Little Free Library organization.

Little Free Library is a nonprofit organization that inspires a love of reading, builds community, and sparks creativity by fostering neighborhood book exchanges around the world.

Through Little Free Libraries, millions of books are exchanged each year, profoundly increasing access to books for readers of all ages and backgrounds.

This video shares a quick overview of what this organization is all about.

How can I not love this organization?  My Little Free Library is my birthday present this year and my friend Rod Deaton built it for me.  He has gone above and beyond my expectations and here is a glimpse of the finished library before it is installed.

Make sure you come back next week for more pictures and details about the Grand Opening that I will be holding on Tuesday, April 4th from 10 am until noon at The Whistlestop Market located at 7825 Greenville Hwy. in Brevard, NC.  There will be plenty of cookies, free bookmarks and chances to win gift certificates to Highland Books as well as other book related items.

I even started a Facebook page to keep everyone informed on what is going on at The Little Free Library. Click here and “like” the page to become a fan of the page.

Want to find out if there is a Little Free Library in your area?  Check out the map by clicking here.

Don’t forget—every comment made on any post during April means a 50 cent donation to The Little Free Library.  Please connect with them on the following social media channels.

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
