Comments for a Cause – Supporting First Responders

10 Comments/ 586/ 0

It’s the first (or second) of November and that means it is time to share Comments for a Cause results and reveal here on It’s Just Life. What a blessing it is to be able to give back to others in a very small way. Each month Chris and I have the privilege of giving a small amount to a charity of choice and it is each one of YOU who take the time to read and leave a comment that makes this happen. This month I have been super slack in responding to comments and I apologize and promise to try to do better. I do read each and every one of them but sometimes I don’t get a response added. Regardless – each comment is important and lets me know that you are out there reading and joining in with my support of the cause.

This past month in October I highlighted a cause that has a focus on breast cancer awareness and aid. What a devastating disease this can be but there are so many wonderful organizations and charities out there that provide hope and help. I chose In the Pink this time as our Comments for a Cause charity on the recommendation of my friend Elaine. To read more about what In the Pink does please click here to go directly to that post.

I am thrilled to be able to report that due to your comments Chris and I will be making a donation of $145 to In the Pink. Thank you to all who took the time to read and leave a comment. I know you have busy lives so every comment means more than you know.

From Gary Sinise Foundation website

I have been a huge fan of Gary Sinise since the days of Forrest Gump. Beyond his acting abilities he also has a very altruistic heart and I have heard of many events that have had his attention and his direction. The Gary Sinise Foundation is very well thought out and has great execution in its programs. Their mission:

“At the Gary Sinise Foundation, we serve our nation by honoring our defenders, veterans, first responders, their families, and those in need. We do this by creating and supporting unique programs designed to entertain, educate, inspire, strengthen, and build communities.”

When I started reading more about the Foundation I discovered that they currently have a very important program that is providing emergency Covid – 19 response to first responders. This combines two of the most important things right now and and I knew right then it was the perfect Comments for a Cause.

Early on in the pandemic this agency was making an impact. To see some of the things that they were doing click here to view a document with details.

Join me this month in supporting this wonderful outreach to our most important first responders. Each comment made on any blog post during the month of November will mean a 50 cent donation to this effort (capped at $250) . Please take time to check out their website and follow on social media – there is a wealth of information for both donors and those who might need assistance. Thank you, as always, for being so supportive of my writing and of our charitable giving. Each of you make a difference – one comment at a time.
