Sometimes a gal has to share some of the things that she loves with others and I am nothing if I am not a good sharer. My parents taught me well. Check out a few things that I am loving right now
One. My dress for the upcoming wedding of Aaron and Erin. I absolutely love it. It is comfy, flowy, hopefully flattering and the color is a lovely shade of fig. Fig, you say? How can I not love wearing a dress in the color of one of my favorite fruits? And I found it on sale online so that made it even better. No real spoilers but it is the perfect dress for me.
Two. Chris and I have been watching Veronica Mars and we just finished all 4 seasons and the movie. It is a fun and witty show and one that is a nice departure from the other dramas that I usually watch. Since we are done with that series I am now working my way through Line of Duty which is a great show on Acorn TV. It has enough twists and turns and curveballs to keep me watching.
Three. We sadly attended the last concert of the year at Brevard Music Center and enjoyed another wonderful performance by banjo player Béla Fleck. Béla holds a banjo camp and the concert is a wonderful collaboration with other artists and students and it is just a fun concert. One of the best things about this concert was a performance by one of the most entertaining hambone performers. I could not video him but he was amazing. If you don’t know what hambone is I found a video of a man named Steve Hickman who does a pretty good hambone.
Four. Of course I am reading and reading and reading some more. I have quite a few books that I have on my pile that I am working my way through. I just finished Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens for the second time for my book club and I loved it just as much the second time through. It was really great to be able to hear the other perspectives from other readers and I am so happy I found this book club to be a part of. Currently I am reading Prince of Tides by Pat Conroy who has quickly become one of my favorite authors. You may recall I was able to visit the Pat Conroy Literary Center and fell in love with his work after that visit.
Five. Volunteering has always been my passion and recently I have been volunteering a few hours a week at the Pisgah Paws Cat Cafe and Emporium. You might remember that this place was a previous Comments for a Cause recipient. It has been a lot of fun to see all of the great kitties that are up for adoption and to see them leave for their forever homes. Of course I have taken a few pictures. Here are a few of my favorites.
So what can you share with me that you are loving right now? Tell me all about it in the comments and remember to Comment for a Cause for Find Your Anchor.
