Pisgah Paws Cat Cafe and Emporium is finally open. I have been waiting patiently to visit one of the latest additions to our Brevard, NC area and finally I was able to go visit what is possibly the most fun place to spend an hour last Friday. I took the delightful mom of my friend Beth and we spent some time exploring this new venue. We were both over the moon excited as she is a cat lover as well.
The Pisgah Paws Cat Cafe was a Comments for a Cause recipient a few months ago and is finally open. Located in the old Sears building at 190 N. Broad Street in Brevard, Erica M. Erickson , a local attorney has taken her pet adoption passion to the the next level and created a space where pet lovers can come and spend some time with some wonderful rescue kitties (and dogs at times) and complete an adoption to give these well deserving animals their forever home.
But enough talking – let’s get to some pictures, shall we?
But let’s get to the cats, shall we?
I am so excited about the future of the Pisgah Paws Cat Cafe and Emporium. The concept is not a new one but it is new to Brevard and I hope that they have huge success in adopting out cats that are rescued from “kill” shelters in the area. The Lucky Cat Lounge is a great place to hang out with the kitties and I totally support the idea. I think the idea is becoming very popular within the community and I noticed the addition of this on their Facebook page recently:
Due to the popularity of our Lucky Cat Lounge (ie: the awesome room with all the adoptable kitties!), we have had to put in place a small entrance fee for the cat room to keep it from getting overcrowded, unsafe, and uncomfortable for the kitties and other guests. Guests may now enjoy 30 minutes in the Lucky Cat Lounge for $5 (or an hour for $10) per guest. This money goes to support our nonprofit rescue and helps us provide food, vet care, and housing to our kitties. If the Lucky Cat Lounge is not busy, you may stay as long as you like for your $5 entry fee. We hope to see you soon!
A small admission fee is a great way to support the cafe. Donations are also freely accepted upon checkout when buying any merchandise and I am going to make it a habit of making that donation when I visit and purchase something.
What do you think? Are you ready to make a trip to Brevard and visit the Pisgah Paws Cat Cafe and Emporium? I am sure they would love to have you join them for a visit. Current hours are Fridays from 4 pm until 9 pm, Saturdays 11 am until 7 pm and Sundays 11 am until 6 pm. Hours may change depending upon popularity so make sure you check before you go. Have you ever been to a Cat Cafe like this? I would love to hear all about it in the comments section . Remember to Comment for a Cause for our charity this month — AAUW Scholarships for Young Women.
Don’t forget to follow along with the cafe on Facebook (click here for a direct link) where they post all the new kitties and adoption news. I can’t get enough of those pictures of cute cats. A special thanks to the fabulous Erica M. Erickson for her dedication to saving these precious kitties.
