  1. Place carrots, potatoes and onion in the the bottom of a slow cooker, pour in the water and place meat on top of the veggies. Pour the beer over the brisket and then sprinkle spice packet over all, Cover and set cooker on high .
  2. Cook brisket for 7-8 hours (depending on your slow cooker). An hour before you are ready to serve, stir in the cabbage and cook one more hour.
