Sausage Sizzle

Leave a Comment/ 992/ 0

We had such a nice day today!!! We slept in a little bit, hit the Mackay market downtown and found a great Aussie picture for Chris’ office, looked at this and that and then hit Subway for a little brekkie!!! After that we headed to Eungella National Forest for a little hiking and viewing and we did see some beautiful views that I will try to post here. The area going to the National Forest is rich in dairy farming and once again I am amazed at how tanker trucks would get up these roads to get the milk! Unbelievably steep, narrow winding roads that seem to just go straight up! I was glad Chris was driving, again, as I don’t like to drive those too much!

We came back to the hotel and took wonderful naps in the nice cool room —something that we have not done for awhile and it was a true sabbath!!! This evening we went to the home of the site manager here for a Sausage Sizzle with 3 other couples and their children and had the best time!!! It really was a great evening and actually was the first bbq that we have actually been to here! We sat around and talked and had a really nice time. On the way home a gecko had attached itself to our hood and stayed on the entire trip back to the hotel—probably about 15 km’s and we were going 50 mph at least at one point so it is pretty amazing the sticking power that little guy had. When we got back and parked he had moved to the window so I documented his stick-to-itviv-ness!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
