What’s Better than a Bookstore with a Cat? A Bookstore with Four Cats!

1 Comment/ 25/ 0

When Chris and I visited Savannah we found a bookstore (surprise surprise) that I spent some time wandering around. It was lovely and the best attraction for me was the fact that the bookstore was home to four cats. Yes, four lovely fluffy cats lived within the walls of E.Shaver Booksellers located at 326 Bull Street in Savannah, Georgia.

The stars of the bookstore are Bartleby and Mr. Eliot, Skimbleshanks and Morticia. Bartleby and Mr. Eliot came first soon after Jessica Osborne bought the store (she was a former employee) . Melissa Taylor, store manager came on as co-owner and the store has grown and with the growth came Skimbleshanks and Morticia. I was lucky enough to pet 3 of the 4 on our visit that day and they were perfectly happy to receive all the petting that customers bestowed upon them.

A bookstore is always a fun place to spend some time and this one was so well stocked with all kinds of great offerings. I could have spent all day there without a problem. Snuggled up on a couch with a purring cat = my perfect day.

.

.

Every type of book that you could imagine, themed merchandise, stickers, stationary and book related items, this is the shop that has it all.

.

.

Rooms and rooms of books and more. Heaven.

.

.

A sign on the floor warns the customers that the building that was built in 1843 has lots of twists and turns and uneven spots.

.

.

Steps for cat use only.

The good news is that they have an online store here that I can visit anytime I want to. So can you!

Don’t I have the best husband ever? After he spent some time in the bookstore, he turned to me and said “I’ll be on a bench in the park. Take your time and come find me when you are done. ” I did. Thanks, Chris.

Come back Thursday for another favorite thing from E. Shaver Booksellers that I absolutely have to share with my readers. See you back here tomorrow for Teapot Tuesday.
