Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could get along ?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone had a warm, dry, safe place to live?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there were no hungry bellies?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone who needed medical help or mental health help was able to access it?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if every family could stay intact and be functional as well as loving?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if the barriers to education did not exist?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if there was no need for war?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone could do their job the way that they felt was the best way to do it?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if medical problems could be solved with a minimum of pain?
Wouldn’t it be wonderful if everyone just got along and respected one another?
It’s no “I Have a Dream” speech but it encompasses some of the things I wish for our world. While it just isn’t possible for all of the above to happen, I do believe that if we all just take one small step in a positive direction in any of the areas, WE can effect change. We are ultimately the solution to so many issues that surround us and even if you don’t think you can make a difference, I know in my heart that you can. Just one small action can start the momentum.
On this historic day when we honor and remember Martin Luther King, Jr. I hope that you will think about what it is that you can do to make your corner of the world a little bit better. It takes all of us.
