1000th Post!!! Let’s Celebrate!!!!!

30 Comments/ 5434/ 0

Can you believe it??? I certainly can’t !!! My 1000th post!!!   Woo hoo!!!!   And that means a celebration!!!!

When I started this blog way back in March 2008 it was just to chronicle our travel and our eventual move to Australia for the family and close friends.  What I did not know was that it would suck me in.  I would soon become addicted  passionate to write posts!   I have always dabbled in writing and while I know that I am not a real writer this has given me an opportunity to get some of that stifled creativity out of my body!!!   Well…maybe.  You might disagree with me as you read some of my archived posts!!!  🙂

So over these 3 + years some of you have stuck with me through moves, (lots of moves for my family!), birthdays, weddings, and life changes.  You have shared my love of Buddy and Holly, the death of Smiley, my love of making cards, my venture into Comments for a Cause, and of course my Tuesday offerings of pictures of my massive teapot collection!

I have met many new bloggy friends and have loved it.  If you want to know who some of my favorites are check out my Blogroll and you will see !   I have found friends near and far and reconnected with some friends from the past !   The internet is an amazing thing.  I love it!!!!

So celebrate with me and any comment today will go not only towards the Comments for a Cause for the month BUT I will be sending a prize package to a randomly selected winner!!!  No details  on what will be in that surprise giveaway but let’s just say—it will be well worth your time spent leaving a comment!!!  Love you all and comment away.  If you have a favorite post of mine over the years let me know what it is!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton
by Helen Childress
This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

The Good Girl

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See
by Anthony Doerr
This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
