A New Addition to the Collection – Teapot Tuesday

14 Comments/ 471/ 0

Yes! I have added a new addition to my teapot collection and I am sure it does not surprise anyone at all. However – it isn’t a teapot I can drink from. I’ve got you all wondering now, right?

Rewind to a couple of weeks ago when I was scrolling Facebook first thing in the morning. We have a ton of great thrift shops around town and one of the best is the SAFE Attic / Interiors shop located in the College Plaza strip mall on Broad Street in Brevard. I love looking at the items they have for sale and they are really good about sharing new items on their Facebook page. Well, the day I was scrolling I hit gold when I saw the first item they had listed.

I basically planned my day around my visit to the store because I did not want anyone else to get the jump on me on this one. When I walked in the store I saw “it” right in the front of the store. I may have heard angels sing. Oh wait –that might have been Kristen Bernard who was working in the store that day.

But whatever – you can see how I was drawn into this second hand beauty.

I sat in it, smelled it, inspected it and deemed it worthy of coming home with me.

When I went back to pick it up after I had emptied all the book donations out of the back of my Subaru, Kristen helped me get it to the car. Now let me tell you -she is a really sweet person and come to find out she is a blogger as well. Of course we exchanged cards and her blog – Seeding the Soul- is lovely. Check it out by clicking the link.

I KNEW it would fit –we just had to remove the legs and angle it in a little bit and sure enough – it fit.

I got it home and Chris helped me move it into our bedroom while I relocated the other chair I had in there. Of course it did not stay empty for long.

I absolutely love it and love that I supported the victims of domestic violence while making the purchase at SAFE. Definitely a win win.

However – it seems that I have to fight for time in my chair.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
