A Welcome Addition to Brevard – Cup & Saucer

18 Comments/ 789/ 0

Anytime a new business comes to our sweet little town of Brevard, North Carolina I get excited. When it involves coffee (or tea) I get even MORE excited if that is possible. Owners Molly Wilcox and Elisabeth Bowling teased us locals for a while as they prepared the former Gallery at 36 space on Main Street. Each week when I walked by I would notice something new or a change in the front of the space. When the Cup & Saucer logo appeared I was beyond excited.

The story of how these two entrepreneurs got together is a nice one. Both worked at Ridge Haven Conference and Retreat Center and discovered a love of all things coffee. Molly had “pop up” events featuring her portable espresso machine and as she and Elisabeth talked they discovered a mutual love of coffee and more. The seed was planted and as a result Brevard is now home to their dream – Cup & Saucer.

Elisabeth and Molly hard at work behind the counter creating the perfect cup of coffee.

The space is large and inviting – complete with a wall of bench seats, tables and chairs and a cozy conversation nook with couches and comfy chairs. The menu board is prominently displayed on the wall behind the counter and the morning we visited the place was constantly busy. The menu offerings are a perfect mix of items ranging from the coffee drinks using Methodical Coffee from Greenville, SC to made from scratch quiches, scones and other lovely baked goods as well as house made syrups. The duo subscribes to the sustainability concept and offers great products to their customers.

Chris opted for the quiche while I went for a soft, moist almond scone. Perfection.

Judging from the foot traffic when we visited this place is going to quickly become a favorite for locals and tourists alike and I am excited to see how it grows and expands over time.

Cup & Saucer, located at 36 East Main Street in Brevard is open Monday through Saturday from 7 am to 7 pm. I love that they are open all day. I can definitely see that this is going to be a favorite spot to pop into when I am in town.

Don’t you love the colors and the clean and open design?

The shop offers some logo themed merchandise for sale as well as bagged coffee (from Methodical Coffee) to discerning customers. A frequent shopper card got my attention and I am 2 cups on my way to a free coffee. Another fun item that is featured at the counter is jewelry fashioned by Molly’s sister and displayed creatively on Bingo cards. I almost missed it so if you visit make sure you check out her designs at Instagram at @Lemoree.

I could go on and on but I will spare you my wordiness today and just tell you that if you come to visit me this is a must stop on our To Do List. If you are an out of towner it is worth a trip to Brevard to check out the latest addition to our quaint Main Street. I don’t think you will be disappointed.

Make sure you follow Cup & Saucer on their social media sites included below. They have a stunningly beautiful website. Let me know in the comments how you like your coffee and remember that each comment made on any post this month means a 50 cent to our Comments for a Cause – Camp Robin Rogers in memory of Chris’s brother Carlton.
