I read an interesting quote the other day by Christian minister Robin Meyers. It made me stop and think.
“Consider this: there is not a single word in {the Sermon on the Mount} about what to believe, only words about what to do. It is a behaviroal manifesto, not a propositional one. Yet three centuries later, when the Nicene Creed became the official oath of Christendom, there was not a single word in it about what to do, only words about what to believe!”
So it got me to thinking. I often watch people . I observe them. I watch what they do. I notice things about them. I notice if their actions mirror the words that they use. I notice if they are all just about the words and not really acting on what they say.
Thinking about this makes me more aware of my own life. Do my own actions match what I say I believe or what I say I will do? It’s a good challenge for me. How about you? Do your actions mirror your words or are you full of words? I think this is a good challenge for all of us. Have a great day.
The Beatitudes

3 “Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
4 “Blessed are those who mourn, for they shall be comforted.
5 “Blessed are the meek, for they shall inherit the earth.
6 “Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied.
7 “Blessed are the merciful, for they shall receive mercy.
8 “Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God.
9 “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons[a] of God.
10 “Blessed are those who are persecuted for righteousness’ sake, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
11 “Blessed are you when others revile you and persecute you and utter all kinds of evil against you falsely on my account.12 Rejoice and be glad, for your reward is great in heaven, for so they persecuted the prophets who were before you. Matthew 5: 2-11
