And the Fair Continues!!!

Leave a Comment/ 936/ 0

Sporting the Iowa State Fair apparel!!!

A typical sight in Iowa!!!

Award winning decorative corn!

Row upon row of field corn on display!

Shy bunny!

Oreo pig

Oink, oink!

Chris took this perfect picture of this sweet sweet man! He talked our legs off but it was fun!

I think I need to wind up the fair photos today! We took tons and it was a lot of fun but perhaps my “followers” are a little tired of Midwest pictures!!! I decided to put a few more up today and then I will quit and move onto something else exciting…not sure what that is!

I am getting ready for my trip to Ohio. I am driving Chris’s car tomorrow and then he will fly in on Friday to Columbus. He and his dad are going to do the big salmon fishing trip on Saturday-Tuesday and I am going to hang out in Lima and stay at the house with Chris’s brother Carl and the kitties!!! I am sure i will be getting together with Colleen and Bryan and Meredith a few times too so I am looking forward to that for sure! Then it is on to Sebring to see my mom and Columbiana to see my sister and her husband and then a stop in Freeport, IL on the way home to hopefully see some friends we haven’t seen for 12 years! Should be a fun time and hopefully the fishing trip will go well.

Got the basement carpet all taken care of yesterday and it looks pretty good so today I finish up vacuuming up all the fragments and put things back in place as much as I can before I head out tomorrow. I am just very glad to have the carpet taken care of—now to get the painter in to take care of the damaged walls and ceilings and we will be well on the way! Woo hoo! Life is good!

Old Girls in Low Cotton
by Helen Childress
This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

The Good Girl

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See
by Anthony Doerr
This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
