Bird Spikes = Cat Spikes

1 Comment/ 11/ 0

Cats are sure footed. Until they are not. I have shared pictures and videos of our cats walking on the railing in our loft. It is heart stopping when they decide to do that and I have tried to put netting up to prevent kittens from jumping down through the spindles. However, I had no answer for the daredevil railing walking.

Our youngest son and his wife who have two beautiful Siberian kitties had one of their kitties fall from a half wall to the steps below. It ended in surgery and a long and expensive recovery and since then they have been concerned about our cats and their occasional railing walk.

So….Aaron sent us some plastic bird spikes that he thought we could use on the railing to keep the cats from jumping up on it. We have added some lovely decor to our home, let me tell you.

We had to add more and attach more zipties because Miss Misha decided to test it out and was trying to walk on the spikes. Sigh. While it is not fashionable I am hopeful that our latest iteration of more spikes and zipties discourages them from railing walking. Cats supposedly have 9 lives but I don’t want to risk it.

How about a couple pictures of the kitties when they are behaving?

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
