Book Swap Reveal

14 Comments/ 2978/ 0

books and bloggersI am always up for a book swap so of course when the Chaotic Goddess Blogger Book Swap rolled around this time I joined in on the fun.  I know it meant that I had one more thing to add to my to do list during our hectic moving summer but it was a nice diversion and guess what?  I got some perfect new books to read.

I was paired up with the lovely Mistle from Sweet Tea and Hydrangeas.  She and I shared a few emails back and forth and I loved to learn more about her and her passions.  She is an avid reader and loves a variety of genres like I do so it made it fun to find books to share with each other. books3

I was excited to get my package this past week from Mistle in the midst of the boxes and unpacking.  We are definitely keeping our new USPS and UPS and FedEx drivers busy this month with all of the boxes and packages that keep arriving at our new home.  They amaze me at their abilities to maneuver down our driveway.  I think it helps that we have a couple of places to turn around but good grief -they have mad skills.

Missile sent me a great selection.  The book she loved that she sent for me to read was Bared to You by Sylvia Day.  It looks like a fun read and she indicated that it was along  the lines of 50 Shades of Grey but better.

Next was Big Little Lies by Liane Moriarty which was one that she wanted to read.  I have loved anything I have read by this author so I am excited for this one.

Finally she chose one from my wishlist The Hurricane Sisters by Dorothea Benton Frank.   My BFF Ann loves this author so I am always happy to read anything that she recommends so this was a sweet surprise. books2

But maybe the thing that I loved the most about my package was the handwritten letter from Mistle that accompanied the lovely books.  Truly a wonderful thing to receive a handwritten treasure these days and it will stay in my keepsake box because it made my day. Thanks to the Chaotic Goddesses, Beth and Angie, for another amazing book swap.  I love these and am grateful for the chance to participate.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
