Christmas Comes to Brevard

6 Comments/ 855/ 0

It’s Christmas time in Brevard, NC and our annual Christmas parade and official Christmas tree lighting occurred last Saturday. It is a great event and one that draws a pretty big crowd. Chris and I popped into town for a few hours to enjoy some of the festivities. There is always so much going on and we have to pick and choose what we are doing. The parade is something I almost always want to go to and this year we had a beautiful day to enjoy it.

We chose to go to our favorite restaurant in town, Quixote, to sit and enjoy some food and drinks as the parade started . A fabulous view of the parade through their massive windows made it the perfect place to watch the high school marching band start the parade off.

.

.

Our own community was represented with one of their fire engines — these guys do a great job and it was fun to see the truck in the parade.

.

There were a lot of fun floats that were entered in the parade including this one from a local church using a cute gingerbread house theme.

.

Probably my favorite entry was by a tree trimming/cutting company who has been kept extremely busy after the hurricane hit our area. I loved their creativity.

.

.

Of course the parade is not complete until the white bearded man makes an appearance at the end. Hello Santa!

.

No event is complete without a selfie in front of the tree and courthouse.

.

It’s so fun to be able to visit these events. We love our little town and are so grateful for all of the hard work that always goes into these celebrations. Does your town have anything like this to kick off the holiday season?
