Clear as Day

Sometimes I really wonder about myself. Let me rephrase that. Lots of times I worry about myself.

The rental house we stayed in in Nova Scotia was unique. It was the winner of a big architectural award when it was built in the 1990’s and had a very unique design.

.

It had amazing views on all sides and was designed to capitalize on those views.

.

.

My favorite picture from the entire trip. Looking for whales.

.

The house was unique inside and outside as you can tell.

.

.

But the thing that made me wonder about myself was when I could not for the life of me figure out the oven for Taco Tuesday. Theo loves tacos and it is probably his favorite meal so of course Fama had to make tacos one night.

.

I just thought it looked like bacon cooking. Definitely the incorrect answer. What I thought was just bake was actually broil as you can see from the finished products. But now it is clear as day what those markings meant.

.

Fortunately I had bought a lot of taco shells and we had plenty in other boxes to use but it reminded me of my mom and. how often she burned cookies she was baking and scraped the burned bottoms off. Trust me, you can still taste the burned taste even if you scrape them. So for Taco Tuesday I might have morphed into my mom for a minute or two.

But what a fun trip for all of us. Theo was into spelling all of our names with some Scrabble tiles and this is another favorite picture and memory. Have a great weekend – do something fun this weekend and tell me about it next week.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
