Comments for a Cause Gets Legal

8 Comments/ 1752/ 0

Holy smokes! July is here and that means a new Comments for a Cause recipient and find out how much we are donating to our recent cause. Let’s get to it!

,

This past month I selected our fabulous Transylvania Farmers Market as the Comments for a Cause recipient and I am so happy to report that we will be making a $50 donation due to your comments here on the blog. It was kind of a messed up month but I know that every little bit helps so a small donation will be appreciated as well. The market is amazing and they reach a lot of locals and tourists as well with fresh produce, arts and crafts, plants, meat and cheeses, soaps, sauces and dips and more. It really is fun to go every week to see what new things are popping up.

.

This month I have chosen Pisgah Legal Services as our Comments for a Cause recipient. There are so many ways that they help folks in Western North Carolina and I love that they are there to offer their services to those who need them most. I found a lot of great information on their website and will share below.

Our Mission

Pisgah Legal Services seeks to pursue justice by providing legal assistance and advocacy to help low-income people in Western North Carolina meet their basic needs and improve their lives.

What We Do

Pisgah Legal Services is an innovative nonprofit founded in 1978 that:

  • provides free civil legal aid to people who live in poverty;
  • helps more than 23,000 of the most vulnerable people in our communities annually to meet urgent needs such as: housing, safety from abuse, health care and income;
  • partners with dozens of other agencies to make sustainable change for people in crisis;
  • coordinates the services of more than 250 pro bono attorneys in WNC;
  • improves systems and policies that impact the lives of thousands of low-income people.

.

Our Attorneys

We employ staff attorneys and work with hundreds of area lawyers who generously volunteer their time and talent to help the people of our mountain region.

.23, 513 people were helped by Pisgah Legal Services in 2023. More than 7, 186 were children.

What a wonderful thing, right? I am thrilled to know that this organization is out there to help those who need some legal help and am happy to support them. If you are new here to It’s Just Life, it is simple. For every comment made on any post during July, Chris and I will make a 50 cent donation to Pisgah Legal Services. Please pop by often and make sure to leave e a comment. I appreciate you taking the time to read and comment and know that you have a lot of other things you could be doing. Big thanks for making It’s Just Life one of your stops.
