Comments for a Cause – WNC Source

6 Comments/ 1623/ 0

I took a bit of a break while we were vacationing with family in Nova Scotia but I am back now and ready to start regaling you with all of my fabulous posts. Just kidding. I am a few days late if you noticed in sharing the monthly Comments for a Cause post but here it is. Worth the wait, I hope.

In August I highlighted Sharing House Back to School program. It was a huge success and I was happy to make an early donation of $150 to help with back to school supplies. Our community counts on these special events to give their families a jump start on back to school supplies and each child received a backpack filled with their school supplies as listed on the their individual school list, shoes, socks, underwear and even a hair cut if they wanted one. It was a fabulous four weeks of fun and excitement seeing the supplies fly out the door and I am so happy that I can be a part of this endeavor in a small way. Thanks to your comments you, my readers, are as well. So thank you for stopping by and leaving a comment.

Another great non profit in our area is WNC Source. This organization does a lot in our area and their logo tells their story. It’s a good one, don’t you think?

WNCSource Mission

Working with communities and partners, WNCSource improves people’s lives by creating pathways to self-reliance and healthier living.

Vision

Giving people the power to transform their futures and live more fully in their community.

Values

Through its work and partnerships, WNCSource upholds the following values:

  • Respect
  • Integrity
  • Collaboration
  • Excellence in Service
  • Progressive / Innovative
  • Inclusion and Acceptance
  • Safe and Caring environment for clients, employees and partners
  • Responsible Stewardship of Resources

Some of the services that WNC Source provides include Children’s Services, Housing Services, Transportation Services, Older Adult Services as well as Thrift Shops. It is a pretty amazing organization and after viewing their website I realized how many of the things that they help with are things that I had heard about but never knew who sponsored them.

.This month please join me as I celebrate WNC Source and support them as they work to provide services to many in our area. We are fortunate to have so many services that are used by so many people. Each is important and a vital part of what our community is offering to those who are in need of the services. For every comment made on any post during September, Chris and I will donate 50 cents to WNC Source. It’s a super simple way to support one of our local non profits without much work.

If you want to learn more, please feel free to check out their website here. As always, thank you for taking the time to read and comment. My readers are the best.
