Back from the beach and back to life in the mountains again but I am still thinking about a great week last week. Of course the best thing was time with the family, including our sweet little grandson, but the house we stayed at was honestly pretty sweet. It was huge and had more bedrooms than we needed. We all got our steps in as it was.a 3 floor house so lots of going up and down kept us on our toes.
It was too chilly to swim but it came with a pool and hot tub which we enjoyed. The pool had just been opened and one day as I walked past on my way back from the beach I noticed something in the bottom of the deep end.
After many comical attempts (as witnessed by my husband who offered zero assistance) to scoop the little bugger from the bottom of the pool I finally succeeded. I was sure it was dead but surprise of all surprises, as soon as I put him down on the concrete he scurried off.
He found refuge by the hose close to the house and seemed pretty ticked off at me for taking him out of what I assumed was his watery grave.
Ghost crabs are quite common on the beach and this guy somehow found himself in the second row of houses and got into the pool. Doesn’t he look angry?
I left him alone and when I came outside later he was gone so I hope he found his way back down to the beach to cavort with his fellow crustaceans. I would like to think I saved a life.
