In the words of our grandson – Happy Annibersary to us! Today marks 42 years since Chris and I said our “I do’s” in Ada, Ohio in the chapel on the grounds of Ohio Northern University. It was. a sunny day which turned to a rainy day right as we said our vows. The rain blew out, the cake was saved, and the small reception outside the chapel in the chapel gardens went on as planned. The only casualties were the hems of the bridesmaids dresses which are wet in the pictures much to my mother in law’s dismay.
Who knew when we got married what lay ahead? Certainly not me. How on earth are we at this point in our lives? I honestly don’t know how the time has flown by so quickly but I must say we have had an amazing life. Of course it has not been without trials and tribulations but though it all, we have made it work.
The best thing? We still like each other, love each other and make each other laugh. That is a very good thing. If you can’t laugh together I don’t think your relationship can survive because honestly, sometimes all you can do is laugh.
So here’s to my husband, my constant and my anchor, to our 42 years together. Let’s go make some more memories.
