I Am a Limited Edition

A limited edition…

That phrase gave me a little pause when I saw it in some of my scrapbooking papers. The more I thought about it the more I loved it.

We are ALL limited editions. I thought I knew what “limited” meant but as always I decided it might be wise to look up the definition.

1.confined within limits; restricted or circumscribed:a limited space; limited resources.
2.Government. restricted with reference to governing powers by limitations prescribed in lawsand in a constitution, as in limited monarchy; limited government.
3. characterized by an inability to think imaginatively or independently; lacking originality or scope; narrow:a rather limited intelligence.

Dictionary.com

Once I read the definition I decided I wasn’t sure anymore if I liked that phrase. I was thinking along the lines that being a limited edition meant that I was unique, special, one of a kind. But after reading the definition I decided that I had a completely inaccurate idea of what the word meant.

I don’t want to be confined or restricted. I don’t want to be unable to think imaginatively or independently. I don’t want to be narrow minded and lacking in the originality arena.

So I decided I don’t want to be a limited edition at all. Maybe what I want to be is an unlimited edition but that certainly does not have the same sound to it, does it? What do you think? Are you a limited edition? Or are you like me and want to be just a little bit freer than that? Tell me what you think in the comments section and Comment for a Cause. Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
