If You Know You Know

9 Comments/ 749/ 0

I shared the above picture with that caption on social media yesterday and had a lot of people who obviously knew. If you know you know. Anyone who has experienced Buc-ees would recognize the iconic beaver and the atmosphere of anticipation that surrounds this establishment. It is something that you can’t explain, you have to experience.

Buc-ees is more than a gas station although we did fill up on our post spring break beach trip and found the least expensive price for gas than we had seen on our trip. The goal of every Buc-ees since 1982, large or small, is to provide a clean and safe experience with in stock items. They boast the cleanest bathrooms and I would have to agree that their bathrooms are spotless and well maintained with every stall including double hand sanitizer containers as well as the usual but sparkling clean sinks and hand dryers. It’s a pleasure to use those facilities compared to many rest area and gas station bathrooms.

So what does Buc-ee’s have? Just about everything a traveler could need and more. Lots of food options and drink options for the hungry and thirsty traveler. We had THE best beef brisket sandwiches there. Yum.

Pool noodle anyone?

.

Branded clothing and more for all ages.

Home goods and seasonal items galore.

But one of the most impressive things at Buc-ees has to be the Wall of Jerky and the buy it by the pound area of jerky. Holy cow. Literally.

The thing about Buc-ees is that they are just something you have to experience to understand. There is a whole following and it is just a fun thing to experience even if you don’t buy a single thing. But honestly, I think that would be a challenge to walk into one and not buy a thing. We got out fairly cheaply — didn’t buy a grill or a cooler or anything like that but we did buy a few things for gifts and to eat ourselves.

Buc-ees are expanding with more and more being built every year but the majority are in Texas where they originated. Have you ever been to a Buc-ees? I would love to hear about your impressions so fill me in with a comment.
