Inconvenienced

12 Comments/ 453/ 0

Today I was just thinking about inconveniences. You know –those pesky things that pop up now and then that irritate and annoy. On a scale of 1 to 10 ( fresh in my mind from my recent ER visits) the level of inconvenience can be mildly annoying or unbearable.

We lost our internet for a few hours the other day and it was just that – inconvenient. Instead of surfing the net or watching television and streaming services, we sat on the back deck and read. Chris is on a Readathon these days and is outperforming me. It’s okay. I am not in competition with him. When I was out of commission last week I did not even feel like reading so you know I was not feeling well.

I always like to dissect thoughts like this and break them down a bit into something that teaches me a lesson. So while not having access to all of the information of the world wide web I realized that my little inconvenience was really nothing at all.

Another example of an inconvenience might be when the tv commercials come on louder than the television show. Or how about when you just get snuggled into bed and realize you forgot to do something that needs to be done for the next day. How about walking into a room and forgetting what you went into the room for or what you were going to get out of the cabinet or refrigerator. How about when you are doing self check out and the screen beeps at you constantly and tells you that you need to take the unscanned item out of the bagging area. I’m looking at you Ingles check out machines!

All of these things are irritating at the time but simply inconveniences and really not anything to get all weirded out about, right? I am trying to keep things in the appropriate perspective and not get irritated when things like this happen. It’s just not worth it and who needs any more stress in life or things to complain about? Not me.

Have you had any inconvenience that just really bugs you? Here’s your chance to vent. I promise I will listen and won’t judge — but remember — keep it all in perspective and as the saying goes “don’t sweat the small stuff”.

Don’t forget to leave me a comment. We have a few more days to Comment for a Cause for Transylvania Farmers Market. You can read more about that by clicking on the above link. As always, thanks for reading.
