It’s All About Pi or Is It Pie?

10 Comments/ 276/ 0

Every March 14 (3/14), mathematicians, scientists and math lovers around the world celebrate Pi Day, a commemoration of the mathematical sign pi ย  (ฯ€), expressed most simply by the decimals 3.14. It is always fun to see the creative memes and comments that center around Pi day. This year I have a whole different take on it because Sharing House, our local crisis assistance organization, is having a Pie Day Event that I am helping with.

In a nutshell it is all about PIE! Pies baked by amateur bakers ( like me) will compete and I use that term loosely in my case, for prizes and bragging rights. I have been let down by our local Girl Scouts — how could they not be where they had advertised they would be so that I could purchase multiple boxes of Thin Mint cookies to use in my pie? I have had to rethink my entry and it will pale in comparison but I am going to give it a go.

But I digress. All things pie, right? We will have pies for tasting, pies for sale by the slice and whole pie, wines suggestions that pair with the pies, activities for the kids, voting on the best pies, experiences with Sharing House staff members included in the Silent Auction and more, much more. It’s going to be spectacular.

If you live locally I would love to see you tonight at The Cedar Mountain Outpost. Thanks to Cara for the great write up with all the details as listed below. It’s going to be a blast.
