Lost and Found

7 Comments/ 318/ 0

Oh the drama of losing things. Isn’t it just the worst feeling when something gets misplaced? Back in March I lost some of those membership cards that you get from places. While it wasn’t the end of the world, it was one of those things that just bugged me. It drove me nuts. I looked in all of the places I “thought” those cards could be. Nope. Not there. It has now been 7 months and guess what? I found them. But it was only because I had lost something else.

Chris and I wanted to do early voting so I was all ready on Saturday to get that done. We wanted to do it early so it was something we could check off of our list. We drove into town, did a few errands and as Chris ran into the post office I went to dig out my license.

Yep. You guessed it. It was not there. Where on earth could it be? I remembered using one of my little card holders when we were on vacation in September to downsize when I was walking to shops and hiking but I was sure I had put it back in my wallet. The slot it is in is too tight for it to have accidentally slipped out. Ugh. When Chris came back to the car I told him we had to go back home before voting so I could find it. So we did.

And I didn’t. I looked in all the places it could be. It was now that I found the missing membership cards but no license. I had a bag that I had not really unpacked totally from the trip and I was sure it was in there. It wasn’t. I decided to not fret (a new one for me) and grabbed my passport and we went to vote. Of course my mind would not turn off on where it could be. When we got back home I ordered a new one. The good thing is that when Chris lost his we realized that it is important to have that driver’s license number written down so that you can easily order a replacement. So $20 later I had a paper copy and a replacement one on the way.

But it still bugged me. I couldn’t’ let it go. Typical me.

I had let it go … again. Then I walked past the jewelry chest I have in our bedroom and out of the corner of my eye I spied something out of place.

There in my basket of random devotionals and journals I spied that little red card case. Opened it. My license.

.

I have no recollection of putting it there. I have no recollection of not taking. my license out of the wallet when I had obviously taken the credit and debit cards out of it. It is not someplace I would have put it -if anything I would have put it on my dresser. I have absolutely no idea why it was there and now I will have a back up license for that next time it happens.

I blame the cats.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
