Sounds exotic, doesn’t it?? Well I am not sure how exotic it is judging from the view out my hotel window—I see a Sam’s Club, an Arby’s, a Culvers, a mall…..etc. I left early this morning on my trek to the lake and made it just fine and dandy to my designated stopping place. It is really too far to go in a day without getting in late and being wiped out so I am splitting the trip up in 2 days and the drive today was easy other than encountering the normal amount of stupid drivers. Made it through the Chicago traffic fine and dandy—hit the tolls in the right lane which was different from when we went through a year ago!!! I was following Chris who just never shifted over to the right lane and guess what—they catch up with you when you try to go through those IPass lanes and you don’t have an IPass!!! It took about 5 months but they did!!!

Lots and lots of construction—it is the season of construction and people just act like idiots when they can’t go go go!!! I sat for about 30 minutes of I 80 E and watched numerous cars risk life and limb to go around barriers in order to turn around and go west so they did not have to sit and wait. I was expecting to hear a huge crash but every idiot who tried it managed to make it as far as I know.

Chris is in Canada this week and next and sounds like he is doing fine and getting the plant up there all evaluated and scoped out. He sounded tired tonight when we talked so I think he having some long days but hopefully Sunday he will get some down time and be able to do a little bit of touring of Toronto and surrounding area. I will have to see if he got any gravy and fries…..my niece’s husband told me about those and I looked it up and while it looks disgusting—–fries smothered in gravy and cheese curds—-I guess it is a Canadian thing.

Not sure what my internet access will be in Lakeside this year but I plan to really take a ton of pictures. It is one of my favorite places of all time and I have a zillion of the same pictures every year but oh well!!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines
by John Green
Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
