Pretzels, Lobster, Beavertails and Oolong Tea

Leave a Comment/ 1533/ 0

Got your attention with that title, huh??? Well I have decided that this trip to Canada is yet just another opportunity to eat so that is what I am going to do! And you know I always take pictures of food so you will get to see some of the wonderful things that we are eating! We had a very uneventful day of flying yesterday–low stress and easy going aside from the early morning time of our flight out of Minneapolis but we got into Halifax around 2:30 pm Atlantic time and boy were we hungry!! Having only had basically 3 bags of pretzels and a ginger ale (oh and a cup of horrid Delta coffee) since we got up at 4:30 am Central time we were famished so we checked into the Westin Nova Scotian and hit the lounge for a bite to eat where we dined in style while watching Ghana play soccer on the big screens. We shared a delightful meal of lobster panini and fish and chips and the waiter could tell by the end result how hungry we were! YUMMO!

We decided we were fading so a nap on our comfy bed was in order before going out to explore the wharf area. After we revived we walked around, took pictures and sampled yet another yummy treat from Beavertail Pastry. Soft serve ice cream served on top of delightful fried dough balls drizzled with chocolate! Double yum. We will definitely be making another trip there to sample the actual thing they are famous for –the beavertail which is fried dough shaped like a beaver tail (get it) with different choices of yummy toppings.

We enjoyed walking around, looking at all of the decorated dolphins on display, people watching and just being in Halifax! On the way back to the hotel we stopped in at a cute little Chinese Tea House for a pot of oolong tea which was a perfect way to top off the evening! Living the dream!!! More adventures today as we go search out some lighthouses!!! Enjoy the pictures!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
