I just got back from a week at my happy place – Lakeside, Ohio. I have shared Lakeside with my readers so many times over the years and the history that I have with this place runs deep. Growing up going to East Ohio Annual Conference for the United Methodist Church in Lakeside was always the highlight of the summer. The years that I was not able to go I always felt like something was missing.

Last year my family spent the week together here after we had a lovely memorial service for my mom. It was indeed a special time. This year it was only the 4 siblings and spouses but it was every bit as special because we got to spend time together.

Of course there was a lot of walking around, snapping pictures of things I have taken pictures of many times before and some new things. It was a lovely trip and one that I will keep in my internal scrapbook forever.

Everyone needs a little rest and vacation now and then and this trip was definitely that for us. Being with all of my siblings and spouses was a bonus and one that I don’t take for granted as many don’t have their siblings to be with. I am grateful every day for my family and love that we all get along and love each other.
