Sunshine, Seashells and Sand

1 Comment/ 1411/ 0

The title about sums it up!  Chris and I are enjoying some time away and have had a great time already and it is really only Day 2 so what is to come?? More wonderfulness!!!   You know I am just not a big snow fan.  I like the first couple of snows when it is nice and new and white and clean but about now in the midwest the snow becomes more of a pain than anything—-dirty, gritty piles all over the place obliterate your driving views and just cause general mayhem in a lot of ways.  So a little escape to sunny Texas was in order so here we are!   A little mini vacation combined with some work and some visiting of the oldest son and life is suddenly wonderful once again!   Amazing how a change of view can affect me mentally!!!

We have had plenty of beach walking and sitting time and it looks like today will be even nicer so we might drive on down the beach today!  In Texas the beaches are all public property so if there is a beach–you can be on it.  They are also part of the public highway system so all the laws of the road apply—for example seat belt use is required as you tool down the beach in your car!  I am excited to just be able to feel the sand between my toes again!  It has been a long winter.

For your viewing pleasure I will post a few pics here—I put a bunch on Facebook so if you saw those these will most likely be duplicates but enjoy them anyway!!!  Here’s to sunny Sundays!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

The Good Girl

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
