The Family is Broken Up

12 Comments/ 2320/ 0

My little family is broken up.  But it was a good break up and I am glad to see them go.  You see I had a family of pilar cysts on my scalp and Thursday was the day that the dermatologist relieved me of my familial association with these guys.  It was a good break up.

Sometimes we want to pass things on to our children and I am glad that our boys got some really amazing traits from Mr. Diamond.  I am not so sure I passed along great traits because unfortunately they both inherited my cysts and headaches.  If I could have prevented that I would have.  But I guess they got the worst parts of me and the best parts of their dad.

My hair all gussied up in clips so the doc could get to my "bumps".

So if you have never heard of pilar cysts they are common cysts that form from a hair follicle. They are usually found on the scalp like mine.  The cysts are smooth, mobile and filled with keratin.  Weird, huh?  I had some removed over 20 years ago and the ones I just had removed had gotten big enough that they were bothering me so off they went.

I have a really great dermatologist and he was amused when I initially introduced him to Grandpa and Mom and Dad and Baby at my consult.  I am sure he won’t forget me because even though I did not give them actual names I did give them family status.  I think it just makes life more fun if you approach things a little bit more light hearted, don’t you?

I also realized that I have had more stitches in Transylvania County than I have had in any other county I have lived in.  So what does that mean?  As always, It’s Just Life.  Enjoy it. One day at a time.

My hair post procedure.  Definitely did not go out in public anywhere post procedure and probably scared the poor utility man to death when he came to the door.  I will spare you the gorier picture.  Because I am a compassionate person.

Old Girls in Low Cotton
