29 and Counting!

24 Comments/ 3142/ 0
Today is our anniversary.  29 years of wedding bliss.  Really!  It has been!  We have had one fight in those 29 years and it was in the first year of our marriage when I was facing living in Florida with those unfortunate characters–cockroaches.  On one occasion when I opened the medicine cabinet to discover one waving his long antennas at me I screamed for help and my darling groom told me to “grow a spine” .  Now that did not go over too well with me.  But I soldiered on and that was the end of that.  Please indulge me today as I list 29 reasons to my husband, Chris, why I love him.  In no particular order.
  1. You have a huge heart.  Not everyone knows that.  You keep it hidden sometimes but I see the tips you leave and the other little things you do.
  2. I still fit under your armpit just like I used to—the perfect fit.
  3. You are the most intelligent person I know.  Really.
  4. You are my biggest fan.  So many times I have needed a fan and you have always supported me in whatever I tried.
  5. You have taken me places I never dreamed I would go.  Sometimes I admit I doubted if they were all a good idea but it usually turned out well.
  6. You have a great sense of humor.  You never cease to make me laugh.
  7. You have allowed me to have 4 kitties over the years even though you were not a cat lover and sometimes they make you sneeze.
  8. You encouraged me to start a blog and that has been the best thing ever for me!  It has opened new worlds and I have many bloggy friends now!
  9. You have been, and continue to be, a fabulous father to our two boys.  You have been a great example to them and have nurtured them over the years.
  10. You are a great communicator. Whether it is at work or at home you are able to articulate well what you are thinking
  11. You are snuggly.  My favorite time is snuggling with you.
  12. You are an amazing pianist.  I love to hear you play.
  13. You have tolerated my obsession with making cards and uttered the appropriate praise when needed.
  14. You are patient.   At least with me.  It takes me awhile sometimes to catch on to things but you are a great teacher.
  15. I love your artsy side—the side that knows what colors go with what and what looks good.
  16. You always compliment me on my cooking—not everyone does that and I appreciate it when I cook something and you comment on it.
  17. You have enabled me to live in a lot of pretty different places over the years.  That has been pretty cool.
  18. You are a great provider.  Even when things have been less than wonderful you have figured it out and made things happen.  Not everyone can do that.
  19. You love Lakeside as much as I do and enjoy our time there as much as I do, I think
  20. You have a pretty incredible family—another thing I love about you!  Your family has become my family.
  21. You know how to relax.  That is an art form and you know how to do it when it is vacation time. Wonderful.
  22. You have taught me to love calamari.  Yum.
  23. You got me the greatest surprise gift of all this year for my birthday. Love it!
  24. You love chocolate and coffee just like me. Another sign that we are perfect together.
  25. You are my mostest.
  26. You are always complimenting me —-I feel cherished (most of the time )
  27. You are a man of deep faith.  The first time we met was at a Bible study and that was a sign of who you are and what is important to you.
  28. You take our marriage vows seriously.  In a time when that is not always the case it is the basis of our marriage to be honest and truthful and honor one another.  You have done that admirably.
  29. You are the best thing in my life.  Without you I would not have this amazing life, these amazing children or any of the amazing experiences that I have had over the past 29 years.  I am praying for at least another 29 more together.  Love you always.
