Happy Labor Day to one and all. Whether you are laboring today or not I wish you all a wonderful day.
I said to Chris coming home from church on Sunday that my heart is so happy. My heart is full and I feel like I don’t deserve to be this happy but I am.
After the past couple of years of spending more time apart from Chris than with him I am loving having him around a little bit more. Already in the past 2 months we have spent more consecutive days together than we did the past 2 years. Travel will still be a huge part of his job but knowing that we have this beautiful place to come home to makes it somehow better.
A bonus also is I found out that one of my favorite ministers and former boss has a church in Hendersonville which is only 25 miles from us. We went to worship at First UMC in Hendersonville on Sunday and got to hear Mark Ralls again. I wrote about Mark one time as one who “held my heart”. You can read that post here. He holds a special place in my heart and I am thrilled that we are so close to his church.
As we sat eating lunch at our new favorite local restaurant, Cedar Mountain Cafe, where I dined on these delightful pork carnitas I mused about how our lives have changed in the past 8 years. Reflection is good for the soul sometimes, don’t you think? It makes one look at the past, review and make adjustments if needed. It also allows one to realize how God’s hand has been at work at times when it is not even realized. I see that everywhere in our past 8 years.
So today instead of bemoaning the fact that I can’t get the coffee bar set up quite yet due to no mounting hardware (thank you, Ikea) I will focus on the happy things.
Perhaps things like this that are occurring right in my back yard. Happy Labor Day, y’all!
