And Winter Drags On and On and On and On and On

4 Comments/ 1906/ 0

Gotta love the return to rotten weather.  At least I am trying to love the return to rotten weather!   After 9 days of sun and warmth in the wonderful state of Texas we are back in the thick of winter.  Ugh.  I am so over winter.  It seems to be dragging  on and on and on and on and on.  You get the point.

I must say that we were very, very fortunate to get back from Texas in such good shape.  Our flight on Sunday was canceled but Delta was proactive and canceled it almost a whole day ahead of time which helped immensely.  Of course the hub is Mr. Prepared and had already booked our hotel for one more night in anticipation so we were all set in that department and it just meant that we got to spend more time with Micah (who claims he is my favorite son).

Delta booked us on separate flights mainly because we had booked our flights separately since Chris was doing work travel prior to the Texas trip.   So Chris’s flight was early morning and mine was late morning.  Not ideal at all because it meant that we would both be hanging out at separate airports for hours on end waiting for each other.  But kudos to a great Delta rep on Monday morning who went the distance for me, put my luggage on the flight with Chris and put me on standby for the flight.   As the last person boarded the flight the Delta dude called me up and magically I got the last seat!   Yay! Said hi to Chris is first class on the way back to possibly the worst possible seat I have ever had on a flight but I did not care.  I was on!   Customer service was evident that morning so I gotta give a shout out to Delta for going above and beyond this time—usually I am bashing them so gotta give them props this time!

The drive home was kind of a nightmare—Minneapolis got hit pretty hard and the trip home took a lot longer than usual but we made it and it is nice to be home again for a bit.  The kitties were thrilled to have their humans back.  Ice is everywhere and things have slowed down a bit but it will melt eventually and spring will come.  Keeping the hope alive.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
