Beth Ann’s Book Reviews: Not Faking It With Jules by Micki Fredericks

14 Comments/ 668/ 0

I am a fan of a lot of authors who write in a lot of different genres. When I find one that I enjoy and that I actually know in person I like to share the love when they write a new book. Such is the case today with Micki Fredericks and her latest book “Not Faking it With Jules”. This is the second in her Blueberry Pointe series and is just plain fun.

I met Micki when we lived in Mason City, Iowa and found her to be a pretty delightful person. Add in to the mix that she is a writer and it makes it even better. She and her BFF Lori have sponsored a North Iowa Book Bash for years where authors are featured and even though I was never able to attend I know it was a fabulous event for both authors and readers.

Author Micki Fredericks

I have read all of Micki’s books (you can find them all here) and her style is really engaging. She has a witty and fun style and even though all of her books are very different that is at the heart of all of them. She is a great story teller and that is what draws readers in.

Micki’s latest book is the second in her Blueberry Pointe series and is fun, fun, fun. I don’t read a lot of rom – coms but this one was just plain fun. It’s an easy read and the characters are lovable and believable. Micki’s website describes her writing as “spicy romance with heart” and that is very accurate.

My review:

Jules Becker and Leo Dorsey come to an agreement to become fake girlfriend and boyfriend in order for Leo to win back his former girlfriend. . In return for her part in the ruse, Leo promises Jules an interview for a much desired job. Raise your hand if you think this is a great idea. Right, not so much. This fun rom-com is just a fun second book in the Blueberry Pointe series that author Micki Fredericks has written and is a quick and fun read.

Of course things get complicated along the way and both Leo and Jules deny to the other that they really do care about one another. This causes a lot of misunderstandings and difficult situations to arise along the way and the reader is left wondering if these two will finally figure it out and get their lives together. Thankfully, they do.

This is a really fun and entertaining book to read and hits all of the rom-com requirements. Steamy and hot at times, filled with angst and regrets, until finally love conquers all to unite the two who obviously should have been together from the start. Great summer read and one that has me anxious for number three in the series.

If you need a fun book to read I would recommend this one. You can find it on Micki’s website here. Please follow her on Facebook as well. Not only is she a great author, she is a truly nice person. Thanks to Micki for another entertaining book to enjoy.
