Birthday Vibes

5 Comments/ 161/ 0

Today is a pivotal day in my life—- one of those milestone birthdays that folks look forward to. Yippee! I am celebrating from Amelia Island in Florida and at my happy place. Any beach will do but the one we are staying on is particularly lovely. Uncrowded, long stretches of shell strewn sand to enjoy and some of the most beautiful sunrises I have seen for awhile. Combine all those things with a lovely visit with friends from Navy days when we were starting our families and I feel like this trip and birthday is an extra special one. (Thanks Virginia and Walter for making the trip to meet for dinner. ❤️)

I think birthdays should be something special and my family has always done that. From the parties with friends that my mom planned to the more grown up trips of my adult days, my birthday has always been a happy day celebrating me! Chris always makes me feel like I am queen for the day.

.

Life is short. It’s always the right time to celebrate so whether it is a milestone birthday or not—- here is your permission to live it up large on your next birthday.

.

We have seen some beautiful things, eaten some yummy food and the best thing is that I have truly relaxed. After the past 7 months of hurricanes, wildfires and pets crossing the rainbow bridge I didn’t realize how weary and stressed I was.

Have a great day and would you give me a birthday present this week? Go out of your way to do something nice for someone in my honor. It can be anything. Big or small. Go make a difference and let me know what you did in my honor. I would love to know!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

All the Light We Cannot See

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
