Bloom

16 Comments/ 607/ 0

I am not an artist but I do like to create things so when my friend, Elaine, shared that she would be teaching a creative multi media class at Lezard Brevard that combined my love of setting intentional words for the year and art I had to sign up. Elaine is an amazing artist and teacher and has a small studio space in Downtown Brevard at the downtown Lezard Brevard shop.

My friend Beth and I showed up last Saturday morning ready to paint and create and while I think we both went with ideas in mind of what we were going to do and the words that we were going to focus on, we both came away with different interpretations and words that came as a result of our intuitive painting. Pretty neat, huh?

Elaine had all the supplies ready for us and we started to create. It was fun to use the different brushes and paints and then layer other items on top. My approach was very random and unplanned while Beth had more of a pattern to her creation.

Elaine shows Beth some painting techniques.

The beginnings of our creations.

When we were all done we had totally different pictures but my word Bloom was evident as well as Beth’s word Flow. Pretty amazing how we both were able to find things (with Elaine’s help) within our pictures that stuck out. I had several birds and hearts that appeared.

Beth’s was amazing and I loved it.

Mine was totally different than what I thought I would end up with but I love it.

Elaine’s was layer upon layer of wonderful colors and textures.

I would highly recommend taking class from Elaine if you are in Brevard. Her next class will be focusing on upcoming Valentine’s Day. Her 11 X14 Palette Knife Painting Class on January 25, 27, or 28 is only $50 with all the supplies provided will be held at the 4 West Main St. location of Lezard Brevard. The best way to sign up is to go to their Facebook page here and follow their posts for upcoming classes and events.

If you aren’t into taking a class you can definitely spend some time shopping and finding a unique and perfect gift or item for yourself.

From pottery to jewelry – it is all here.

Everyone got a special “noodle bowl” from us this year for Christmas. They are great gifts.

There are always too many jewelry choices for me.

I also love these clothing items featuring the photography of Sue Fitzgerald.

Whatever you are looking for, chances are you can find it at the shop downtown or the shop on 276.

Make sure you stop by and check it out the next time you are in Brevard and visit their Facebook page for all the up to date information.

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...
