Book Review: My Life by Fallon the Traveling Cat

18 Comments/ 540/ 0

Awhile ago I received a surprise package in the mail from my friend Sally. Sally and I go back to my days of living in Monaca, Pennsylvania. We were both young moms and found each other at church and forged a friendship that remains strong to this day. Although I don’t get to see her very often, she remains one of my best friends and we always pick up right where we left off. Good friendships are like that.

So when I opened the package I was thrilled to find this book that her friend, Elizabeth, Sanguedolce, had written. And it involves a cat. Even better.

The story is super cute and I can see that it will be a great one for little ones to enjoy as they follow the adventures of Fallon.

It may be awhile before Theo is able to enjoy this one — he is can still be less than gentle with books and I don’t want anything to happen to this one. Sally even got her friend to sign it for him. Plus she was an early reviewer and signed her review at the end of the book as well so that makes it even better.

The story begins with Fallon’s adoption and highlights how Fallon becomes a traveling cat. From the author:

These are true adventures experienced by Fallon the Traveling Cat. Born in Grants Pass, Oregon, Fallon was adopted by a retired couple who began traveling to Florida for the winter. Named for Fallon, Nevada, Fallon traveled by motorhome, car and airplane across the United States all of her life. In this book Fallon visits two national parks, gets lost and gets fleas. What more excitement can she find? Fallon will tell you from her unique point of view! A map of the United States illustrates Fallon’s trips and places she visited in Book 1. National parks are highlighted in the story. In Book 1 Fallon visits Joshua Tree and Grand Canyon National Parks. The real Fallon lived a long life of travel and adventure.

I love this book and the educational aspect of it is a bonus. It is sure to delight children and adults alike. Thanks to Sally for introducing me to Fallon and Cleo, her doggie friend.
