Comments for a Cause – Fill the Bus

10 Comments/ 558/ 0

June flew by and I can hardly believe that it is July 1st already. How about you? While I can not boast of any great adventures or trips we did have some great family time with our “bubble” and that was positively wonderful. I miss family so much and being able to have a little bit of time with our little family made this time a little easier to tolerate.

In June we concentrated our Comments for a Cause efforts on supporting mental health issues and our recipient for the month was NAMI – National Association on Mental Illness. They do wonderful things and do education and offer support and many resources to those with mental illness or to family and friends. To read more about what all this organization does click here to go directly to that page.

I am happy to report that due to your continued support of It’s Just Life and your comments made on blog posts Chris and I will be making a donation of $125 to NAMI to help support their efforts. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Your comments make a difference in many ways.

Schools are in the process of figuring out what they are doing for the 2020-2021 school year and while it won’t look like what we are normally used to there will still be the usual needs. As jobs have been difficult for many to have during the Covid – 19 Pandemic it is going to be even harder for some parents to provide necessary clothing for their children. As the time nears for Back to School, Connestee Ladies Luncheon Committee comes to the rescue.

As part of this committee we have always claimed to be “more than just lunch” and our efforts over the past year have shown that we love to support our local community. One way that we are going to be doing that this summer is with a Back to School Clothing Drive held here in our own Connestee Falls. A simple drive through contact free drop off will be held on July 18th at our Atagahi Park and it will be a great way for residents to drop off both new and gently used clothing as well as gift cards and monetary donations. I decided that this should be my Comments for a Cause recipient for the month and hope that my readers will support it with their continued comments on the blog.

I am excited to be a part of this endeavor. We held a very successful Coat and Warm Clothing Drive last year and it was very well received by our community and our local schools. It is time to be generous again. If you are interested in making your own donation just drop me a comment and I will be happy to give you more information about how to donate. Or donate to your own local school in the way of a gift card or a cash donation that can be used to purchase needed items. Now is the time to look out for one another.

Every month I highlight a new cause on It’s Just Life and this month for every comment made on ANY blog post Chris and I will make a 50 cent donation to Fill the Bus – Connestee Falls. Please be generous with your comments and thank you so much in advance.
