Comments for a Cause – Weirdo Style

30 Comments/ 1808/ 0

Welcome to February! I don’t know about you but January was a really, really long month for me. It really was packed full of emotional events and challenges but here we are headed full force into February. So let’s get to it, shall we?

This past month my Comments for a Cause was St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. It is one of those time honored charities that pulls at my heart strings. Having had two very healthy children of my own and a healthy grandson is not taken casually. There are so many hurdles that so many families have to overcome because of a devastating diagnosis in their child and St. Jude’s is one of the best places around to help with those medical needs. Let’s face it – those commercials are what get me every single time.

So it is with happiness that I reveal that Chris and I will be making a donation of $107 to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital as a result of your comments here on It’s Just Life. I have had some issues responding to comments on my laptop ( iPad and iPhone don’t seem to be affected) so I may not have responded to everyone but I do read them all, trust me. So THANK YOU for reading and commenting. I know it takes time and every one is busy.

I know the title of today’s post caught your eye and hopefully pulled you in. It is a great way to introduce our Comments for a Cause recipient for February 2023. I happened across this group on Facebook when I was volunteering with a cat related rescue and I love what they do. Based out of Asheville, NC, the Asheville Cat Weirdos has a fund that In 2022 helped over 100 cats with vet expenses totaling $133,000!

What started as a private Facebook group that shared pictures of cats turned into this amazing group of people who have banded together to help folks with unexpected and overwhelming veterinary bills for their loved pets. Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency Fund is the place to go to see the unexcited needs that this group helps with. Every once in awhile, when the fund gets low, a post will spur folks on to make a donation to help a specific kitty and the stories run the gamut.

The Asheville Cat Weirdos Emergency Fund is run by. a board who oversees the fundraising and the pantry which has a first come -first served policy. They provide needed supplies for kitties and encourage folks to donate however they can.

You know I am all about cats so why would I not support this great organization? Their Facebook pages are filled with wonderful cats and cat stories and the “weirdos” as they are lovingly referred to are generous and caring. It’s a privilege to be able to make donations now and then to help kitties and owners with unplanned expenses. We all know how much health care costs and it is the same for veterinarian care.

So this month when you leave a comment on any post you will be helping, 50 cents at at time (capped at $250). Chris and I love that we are still able to highlight a cause each month here on the blog and introduce my followers to charities and causes they may not have known about. Please, make sure you click on the links at the end of this post to follow along with this organization and I promise you will see a lot of great cat pictures as well. Thanks Asheville Cat Weirdos, for all that you do.

Of course I have to add a couple pictures of my kitties for your viewing pleasure.
