Teapot Tuesday – Another Thrift Shop Find

6 Comments/ 210/ 0

Thrift shops are often a great place to shop for a variety of bargains. I have to admit I have purchased my fair share of teapots in thrift shops and found some fabulous finds.  The teapot featured today came from Affordables in Mason City, Iowa.  I am always pleasantly surprised when I find a great buy and can help places like this all in the same transaction.

This one caught my eye because it was different.  It is a small one with no clear markings on it which makes me think it might be a handmade one and not mass produced.  It has a undercoat of brown paint and then raised splotches of white and tan paint scattered throughout the teapot.  I love the unusual and random pattern and would like to think that someone had a great time when they created this little gem.

Today’s tea quote comes from Darlene Foster who loves tea almost as much as I do. Thanks, Darlene!

Taking tea is about making time instead of grabbing it, and about genuinely relaxing instead of simply giving lip service to the idea. — From “Places to Make and Take Tea” by Ann Lovejoy

I love this unique little teapot. It may well be a hand made one. Thanks for the mention and for using the quote!

I had not thought of time as something to make vs. take. I must ponder that idea.

Not only did you find a teapot with an interesting pattern, but this will forever link you to Mason City and your memories from your time living in that Iowa community. Win win.
