Cricut? Did You Say Cricut?

7 Comments/ 2068/ 0

I know I have a problem.  And it is not a problem of the insect variety.  It is a crafting problem.  You see I bought a Cricut Expression awhile back and it has taken over my life.   Any of you crafters out there can understand how that happens.  It starts with the need to make just one special card for an event and then it kind of snowballs.  By the time I am done I have every single piece of crafting accessory out in my “office”.   I have the trash can for the scraps that happen to make it into the basket.  I have the Cricut, of course.  I have the piles of scrapping paper and cardstock.  I have the cards.  I have the 12 pairs of different edged scissors.  I have the markers.  I have the adhesives–glue runners, glue sticks, tape, etc.   The list goes on and on.

And I have 2 cats.   Who HAVE to be in the middle of things.  Sometimes I just have to close the door.  Cats + Crafts = Huge Frustration

What I have found is that this little hobby of mine gives me a lot of satisfaction and somehow fulfills a deep need in my life.  I need to create or something.  I am done creating children (mine are 22 and 25 and don’t need their mom in quite the same way anymore) .   I am not currently a part of the paid work force so I don’t have that outlet.  I volunteer but that is not where I can be creative.  So I make cards.  And send cards.  And have fun with it.

Can any of the rest of you identify with my crafting addiction?  Is there a self help group out there?  There are days when I think I have gone overboard.  I may have  a problem… Would love to hear what YOUR craft addiction is and see pictures!!!  Stop on by and share!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

I loved this book! It had my interest from the very first page and was my "airplane" book on a recent trip. Author Mary Kubica created believable and interesting characters that the reader learned to identify with and care about. Mi...

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
