Glimpses from vacation…..Brown family style…….

My brother whipped out his old school calculator watch that he STILL uses to figure out the differences in sugar and calories in the old Mountain Dew and the new smoother version. Really????

Educational—we watched a mayfly molt…..from beginning to end! Exoskeleton on the left…new body on the right.
Family time in a well loved place with memories galore—it does not get much better than this. I am blessed. Hope your day is, too.

Well aren’t you just the sweetest?? Thanks, McGuffy Ann!!!!
Great pictures BethAnn. Love the sunset shots over the lake – beautiful. Looks like you had a great time.
Thanks, Susi! The sunrises and sunsets have been beautiful. Just beautiful. The weather has been lovely and the company even better. 🙂
So… Definitely finding a way to be there next year. I miss Lakeside. And the family too!
We may have to get a bigger house!!!
I can sure see the love and fun in these images. What a great time. I, too, love gathering with extended family.
Favorite photo: a boy and his ice cream. Not so favorite: those horrible mayflies.
Looks like, and sound like, you are having one wonderful time. You are, indeed, blessed.
Question: Is the family name really Mustard? One could have fun with that name.
Yep—Mustard. A lot of Colonel Mustard did it in the billiards room with a candlestick…….
I think it would have been more appropriate for a picnic if it was the “Brown Mustard” clan.
Oh yea!!! But we can’t leave the Kline’s out!
Yeah, I guess you wouldn’t be in-kline-d to do so..
ugh. again i say ugh.
I’m getting kind of proud of the ughs.. Picture me patting myself on the back..
Don’t break your arm in the process!!!
lovely pictures and looks like a great time! love the nose cups…..hilarious.
Looks like a great time was had by all. You are truly blessed. I sounds like our wonderful Hoffman family reunions in Alberta where we have up to 150 attending. Lots of eating, laughing and catching up.
That sounds perfect!!! We are both blessed with families, aren’t we?? It is something that not everyone can embrace and love like we do!
Can’t wait to make it back to Lakeside and show the hubby what I’m talking about with all the family, food, and fun! Lakeside and especially big strangely laid out houses with enormous screened-in porches will always have a special place in my heart!
I hope you guys can make it someday! It was great to have Aaron here for a bit this year but what a great thing it would be if we could somehow make this week our Christmas week when every one comes and sees each other. The travel is definitely easier….
My brother whipped out his old school calculator watch that he STILL uses to figure out the differences in sugar and calories in the old Mountain Dew and the new smoother version. Really????—yeah I have to repeat, Really?
I am surprised that you are the only one who mentioned this. To me it was priceless. My family is unique to say the least. And actually that watch (which lost the band years ago) may or may not be the original that Chris and I gave him back in the 80’s or sometime! It might be a replacement by now but he likes it so much he got another one. I think he is stuck in the past……
great pictures Beth, could you name the people in the Brown family pictrue, Haven’t seen your brothers in so long don’t know for sure who’s who. Although I can tell the one on the left looks like your dad. Love the pictures of all the cottages, also.
Great pictures Beth. You gave a good review of what Lakeside is and why we love to go there.
How about calling it the Klines Brown Mustard Picnic?
Good idea!!!
The ice cream looked delicious – what flavor?
Ummm…I think that particular time it was black cherry. He a different flavor every night he was there…..
