I am officially a Cat Lady….

I did it.   I went overboard.   Or in the words of Aaron….”that’s a bit ridiculous”.   My kitties have been in “foster care” at Gpa Skip’s for a long time!!!  He offered to take them when we moved to Australia and then we were trying to sell the house and he agreed to keep them awhile longer.  They have loved being there.  He spoils them.  Buddy sleeps with him and they love all the treats he gives them.  Carl tolerates them—-Buddy had a strange affection for some slippers that Carl had for awhile so he had to give up wearing those because even though it was not comical to Carl—it was an obsession with Buddy. Whenever Carl had those slippers on Buddy was right there on top of his feet.  Must have been the glue in them or something but it was pretty funny to watch.

But the time has come to bring them back to Iowa.   I am scared that they are going to cause Dad to fall and they are just getting into things lately so I think it will be easier to have them out of their house and here.  So in preparation for their arrival back to their hometown I bought a kitty condo.   I asked my niece for advice on one since she has two kitties also and she gave me some tips so I bought one off Amazon.   It arrived UPS and the driver chewed me out for it being so heavy===it actually said Team Lift on the box!   I offered to help him with it but he had it covered.  He earned his money that day!!

So I decided to assemble it yesterday.  Laid all the pieces out and it didn’t look that hard.   It took waaaaaayyyy longer than it should have.   I tightened things too tight so then the other end would not screw in. So I had to untighten.  It all worked out and I got it all done and it is pretty amazing.  My favorite part—the hammock.   Now who would not love a hammock to sleep in??? Awesome.

So it is in place, in front of a window where I have feeders where the kitties always used to hang out so hopefully it will be money well spent and they will actually use it. But you know how cats are…..pretty darn independent.  So we shall see what they do when they arrive in a couple of weeks.   Either they will love it or they will totally ignore it.  The upside —Carl can go back to wearing those cool slippers again!!!

Old Girls in Low Cotton
