I Can’t Be Held Responsible

Leave a Comment/ 1308/ 0

Ever have someone say something that just seemed ridiculous???   Today I had the pleasure of (among other things) going with Aaron to find a coffee table and end tables.   Finally found something around 4 pm and the dude told us we could make it to the warehouse to pick it up in plenty of time before they closed at 5.   The upside—the warehouse was really close to Aaron’s new place in Brier Creek.   So off we went—we had both driven since he still had stuff to move from the old place and we weren’t sure if it would all fit in one car.   So anyway I followed him to this warehouse which was a little convoluted to find but we did.   Now my rental car is a nice spacious Impala and the stuff was all packed up in a box.  You know–one of those “some assembly required” jobbies!   The dude brought it to the loading dock and just shook his head repeatedly, got out his tape measure and was all panicked about the box not fitting in.  My experienced eyes and Aaron’s experienced moving eyes knew that it was going to be no sweat but this dude repeated 4 times—-“I can’t be held responsible if something happens to the upholstery”.   Four times!!!  And it was ridiculous.   There was tons of room!   He measured the car and still was shaking his head even though there was tons of room!   Aaron said that that was the beauty of upholstered cars—there was some give.   And there was!  But the big production was getting it in the car and closing the door and wiping his brow like that was a close call!!! I guess you had to have been there but really…..now our catch phrase is ….”well I can’t be held responsible”…..

GREAT day with Aaron!  We got a ton done at the old apt and the new place is all settled except for his room and doing the grocery shopping.  Life is good!!!  I love being a mom.

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

An Abundance of Katherines

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
