Invasion of the Critters

14 Comments/ 2744/ 0

As many of you know I am spending time time with Aaron this week.  We have had a great time.  Today I ironed.  And ironed.  And ironed.  And ironed some more.  I am happy to do it for him but I wonder if he saves it up for my visits.  Hmmmmm.

Since he just moved into a new townhouse he is still a little unorganized in his new place. There is still some stuff at the old place and since he is such a busy guy it is hard to get it all moved .   He will get there and he basically has it all done but all that little piddly stuff like the stuff in the fridge and the bathrooms, etc.  It will come.  I am happy to do what I can to help out.  And I am happy that I am free to do it!  Yay for my life right now!

Yesterday morning when I came downstairs for that first cup of coffee there was a huge bug in the entry way.  His foyer is the full two story open type and my picture does not do it justice at all.  But maybe you can see that it was huge.   I think it might have been a cicada.

Add a little zoomie zoomie and it still does not really look as big as it really was.

Aaron took care of it when he got home.  It wasn’t pretty.  Glad that the painter was coming back to redo that area.  Just saying.

So today the painter came –great guy and if you are in the Raleigh area and need a painter give me a holla and I will give you his info.  Great guy and a very good painter.    He brought his ladder in to get started and then was all incredulous at something he spotted on the wall.  The same area where said above bug was the day before.

An adorable little froggie!!!  I think it must have been on his ladder that he had up against the townhouse but how cute!!!  I told him he was in charge of the catch and release which he did.  However…this is where the story gets sad.   He came back in and said that as soon as he set the little cutie down a bird swooped down out of nowhere and pecked it.!!!!  He was really upset.  Said it was traumatic.   Not sure of the status of the frog.  I may have to go search later but hopefully he was just “playing dead” so the bird would go away.

I have one more day here so I am a little leery of what the critter of the day will be today!!!   I will be sure to keep you posted!

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

This is quite a book! I had it recommended to me by several people and while I thought it might be a little dark and depressing it made me have a better understanding of what life in this time period was like. The strength of the huma...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
