What a wonderful surprise this past Saturday when an afternoon spent at a local Artisan’s Market included visiting with a herd of llamas. We found a parking place on the lovely property of Deerwood Reserve where the White Squirrel Artisan’s Market was being held. We knew several exhibitors and were excited to get outside to see some really great arts and crafts and search for some gifts. As we were walking from the parking area I spied the llamas from Earthshine Lodge and got pretty excited.
These llamas are pretty well known around here. They are often used as golf caddies at events and featured in llama hikes at Earthshine. Now you know that is on my bucket list, right? If anyone wants to make that happen for me I would definitely not turn it down.
As we walked closer to them I realized that we had arrived just about a second too late as the handler had been looking for folks to walk them to another area of the property where they would be available to interact with. But regardless- I happily found myself part of the end of the Llama Parade .
I mean really –how fun is this? Even if I didn’t walk a llama I got to be with them and it was pretty fun.
