Lost and Found

17 Comments/ 2816/ 0

Did you ever lose something and just go bonkers trying to find out what you did with it??? I usually am pretty good about keeping track of my belongings but there are days.  Yes….there are days.

My sweet husband has graced me with some lovely jewelry over the years.  One anniversary fairly early on in our marriage he got me an opal necklace, earrings and bracelet.  I loved that set.  They were pretty and delicate and unusual and I loved wearing it.   I usually wore it for more dressy up occasions like church or whatnot.   One Sunday I went to put the set on and realized that the bracelet was missing.

Now how did that happen??? I ALWAYS took the necklace, earrings and bracelet off together at the same time and put them in the same place TOGETHER!  What gremlins were working in my jewelry box to hide it from me?  I turned the bedroom upside down.  I looked high and low.  I looked near and far.  I looked inside things(Feeling kind of like a Dr. Seuss book here).  It was nowhere to be found.  Insert very sad face here.

Some time passed—probably a month or so.  I had given up hope ever being reunited with my lovely bracelet again.  I figured it must have fallen off, fallen in a trash can, or a zombie had come and taken it away while I was sleeping.   I had said goodbye to it.

Our youngest son, Aaron, had a knack for finding things sometimes and even though he was not actively looking for anything he would find lost items .  It was a gift.   One day he was getting ice out of the automatic through the door nifty ice dispenser to put in his drink.  Yep–you guessed it.   My bracelet came out in the ice!!!   Somehow I must have reached into the freezer part to get something out and it had fallen into the ice reservoir thingy and stayed there.  It was a little worse for the wear with a broken catch but we were reunited and I was happy !   Who would have thought it!!!

Have you ever lost something and had given up hope ever finding it????

Old Girls in Low Cotton

This short book was one that looked like it would be a fun read. I honestly did not enjoy it all that much---it was a lot of characters bickering and while some of the writing was witty and funny it was not that kind of book that made m...

Another great book by John Green. I have become a huge fan of John Green since my reading of A Fault in our Stars and this book was another that did not disappoint me at all. It was a story of a child prodigy, a lot of anagrams, and a b...
