My Most Favorite Store of All – Theophilus

16 Comments/ 708/ 0

I love to shop local.

I love to support small businesses.

I love when my favorite stores get even better.

Theophilus is that store for me. The store I always go to for unique gifts, for above and beyond service, and for the perfect shopping experience.

Recently relocated to 44 E. Main Street in Brevard, North Carolina this is the shop that you do not want to miss. Martha Carlton and her staff have made the move a few doors down and I couldn’t be happier for them. Becca was on hand the day I shopped and was a huge help. The store is amazing and I do not use that word lightly. There is absolutely something for everyone here and the space that they have created is so welcoming, warm and inviting. The shopping here is an experience.

I have always loved their lines of jewelry and now it is easy to find that special piece to complete an outfit.

One of the things that I love about the new space is that they are now able to offer so much more of everything. More square footage means more clothing, more housewares, more baby items (yay), more shoes, more glassware, more everything. The design of the space is perfect and has the ability to showcase all of the wonderful things that they have sourced.

Need a card? The unique curved wall towards the back showcases all types of cards and stationary that will certainly please all of the letter writers.

Oh I could go on and on and on…but you just have to see it and experience it. The great thing is that they are a boutique that caters to the shopper. They are truly great at helping the customer find the perfect item whether it is clothing or a gift for someone else. I can not tell you how often I have found the extraordinary item that ended up being the perfect gift for someone.

Can you believe I passed up the item in the picture below? Pro tip – if you see something you like you can call the store and they will make arrangements to ship to you. Hint, hint. Bonus: they also provide gift wrapping.

They stock so many great books now. Even more than they did before and I have always loved the selection of books that they offer. Now there are even more – from children’s books to cookbooks to travel books, journals, books with writing prompts and more. Great for book lovers like me.

A benefit of having a bigger space means the ability to offer more home furnishings including this couch, rugs and pillows galore.

There is absolutely something for everyone. Testers are available to sample the latest scents and body care items.

Need a puzzle or a game? Look no more. Several fun areas display the best items for shoppers looking for that perfect fun item to enjoy.

An adorable baby section has everything from swaddles to bibs, books and baby puzzles, to adorable outfits to clothe that special baby in your life.

Whenever anyone asks what my favorite shop in downtown Brevard is I always answer Theophilus. Now it has gotten bigger and better and I am so proud of this owner and what she has been able to do. Transforming an existing space that used to be a restaurant was not an easy task. Given the time frame that she was able to achieve it is nothing short of a miracle. I am so grateful that we have this truly upscale boutique in our little town and hope that everyone who reads this post is able to experience it in person someday. It’s that good. If you know me you know that I don’t share anything here unless it is an authentic and real post.

The best way to stay up to date with Theophilus is through their Instagram account here but they also have a website (under construction and updating) and Facebook page that continue to be updated. Check them out and tell them Beth Ann sent you. Let me know when you plan to visit — the guest room is open.
